RE(F)USE – the story of abandoned objects, explores the transformation of discarded objects found within the ceramic factory environment.
Elements once used as tools or by-products of the production process become the starting point for new forms. Through selection and reassembly, they are reintroduced into the spatial and material context of the manufactory, shifting their role from functional components to autonomous objects.
In this process, their original purpose is altered—sometimes to the point of becoming intentionally non-functional. At the same time, they begin to resemble the ceramic objects produced in the factory, adopting its decorative language and formal characteristics.
This creates a tension between utility and ornament, production and redundancy.
The use of ceramics becomes paradoxical. Objects that once existed as REFUSE—waste or residue—are reinserted into the production cycle, forming a closed loop. Their trajectory redefines them as REUSE, questioning the boundaries between material, function, and value.
